We will be working closely with the state and local authorities to implement all necessary Covid measures to have a safe in-person event. Modifications may include removal of post race activities, wave starts, and modified courses. We cannot predict what October will look like in terms of the current pandemic, but we are committed to doing everything we can to host a live event. One of the most beautiful and challenging trail ultras in the southeastern US. Run from one iconic North Carolina peak to another and enjoy the fall scenery. For more details, click here

Due to overcrowding at the parks we have been asked to move our race date and also reverse it for 2021! This will be a one time opportunity to race HR2PM!  Come on out and give the reverse course a try in 2021!

50K Start -  Hanging Rock State Park (Lake Parking Lot)

50 Miler Start - Green Heron Ale House (1110 Flinchum Rd, Danbury, NC)

Both races will make their way through Hanging Rock State Park, along the STA, and through Pilot Mountain State Park.  

Both events will finish at Horne Creek Historical Farm in 2021 (308 Horne Creek Farm Rd, Pinnacle, NC)!

Athletes can choose to drive themselves to the start line or they can park at the finish line early in the morning and take one of our hired buses to the start line (this option is only available until the seats are full). The cost of a ride to the start line will be $20. There will not be a shuttle returning to the start lines after the race.

Race Day, Saturday, October 2nd:

Packet Pickup at Respective Start Lines 
  • 50 Mile Race: 5:00 - 5:45 AM
  • 50k Race: 6:15 - 7:30 AM
Start Time 50 Miler:
  • 6:00 AM
Start Time 50 K:
  • 7:45 AM

Time Limits:

  • Aid Station #6 (Mile 26.3 of 50M and 14.8 of 50K): 1:30 PM
  • Aid Station #8 (Mile 31.0 of 50M and 19.4 of the 50K): 2:41 PM
  • Aid Station #10 (Mile 42.1 of the 50M and 23.4 of the 50K): 5:50 PM
  • Both race courses will close at 8:00 PM
